The year of 2007 was one of great artistic developments!! In March,
Alfredo was featured at OPB TV Oregon ArtBeat program. Those scenes
were recorded at Alfredo's home, his guitar studio and at the Central
Library and finally on the streets of downtown Portland.
In March he presented a sold out "Latin Impressions"
concert at The Old Church in Portland that was a great success.
Following that concert he performed in Brazil at Toca do Vinicius
in Ipanema, Allianca Francesa in Copacabana as well as another concert
at the famous "Clube do Choro" de Brasilia.
In the month of June, Alfredo collaborated with his guitar arrangements
with artist and writer Lynn Darroch in the release of "Beyond
the Borders"CD, this lead to many public presentations.
In the months of July and August Alfredo had for the second time
the honor and privilege to represent his native country of Peru
at the V International Guitar Festival in Arequipa, Peru and also
presented a master class to the guitar students.
October was a memorable month for Alfredo, he had the privilege
to be the featured artist at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC
for the Millennium Concert Series, and also was invited to give
a workshop in Latin-American music at Montgomery College in Maryland.
While in Washington DC, Alfredo coordinated with the Peruvian Embassy
and Consulate, and with his friends Billy Castillo and Jose A. Paz
Soldan, a benefit concert to raise funds for the earthquake victims
in Ica, Peru. Finally, he closed his tour by performing a fourth
recital at the Brazilian-American Cultural Institute.
In the month of October Alfredo Muro presented another great concert
"Six Latin Strings" at The Old Church in Portland.
For this year of 2008, the agenda is full of more exciting projects,
he will be traveling for the fourth year to Brazil, this time to
the city of Sao Paulo.
In April, Alfredo Muro will be featured in concert, "Latin
America,Encounter and Magic", with Brazilian pianist Jovino
Santos Neto at the Nordstrom Benaroya Hall in Seattle, sponsored
by Viva La Musica Club in collaboration with the Seattle Symphony.
During the month of May, Alfredo will start recording his 6th CD,
dedicated to his Latin American roots, to be released at the October
concert, 2008.
On July 8th of this year, Alfredo will present a concert "Four
Friends, four Guitars", featuring "Duo Dos Americas",
Jim Bosse (USA) and Alejandro Davila (Argentina), and Alberto Cumplido
(Chile).
Alfredo has been invited to play this year at several International
Guitar Festivals, Dominic Republic, Chile, Argentina and Colorado
Springs Guitar Society Concert Series.
